Observe - Take a look around...

Take a look around and observe your surroundings. Where are you right now? Are you sitting inside of a dark room? Is there anyone else with you? Are you all alone? Most sources indicate that a majority people read tales of horror by themselves. Something about this genre and medium compel you to experience it in a quiet room, all alone. But why is this? Why subject yourself to fright in solitude? What compels you to purposely scare yourself, to fill your mind with visions of the grotesque and supernatural?
Do you enjoy feeling a sense of, what some deem as, “paranoia”? What thrill can come from becoming suspicious of that shadow moving in the corner of your eye? That shadow that you think “isn’t anything”. Listen closely; is there a noise you hear that was or wasn’t there all along? Take a look around. Is there anything you didn’t notice originally? Is there something different? Is something out of place? That feeling on the back of your neck: is it your imagination or is it just too faint to pin-point?
When you read you expand the limitations of your mind. Clear of auditory and visual distractions, it can push your consciousness to perceive at levels you do not normally reach. The longer you read, the more you become aware. Maybe of things you thought weren’t there. There is a reason why your brain would block out these sensations. No one can be sure why. Maybe your mind is warning you. Maybe there are things you weren’t meant to see. Things you didn’t realize were there. Things that cannot be unseen. Things you cannot forget. Things that shouldn’t be.
Take a look around.

How to deal with Post-College/Summer Stress

Vacations...Oh the joy!!!!

Well if you are a little kid, maybe. But if you have had a really stressful and harsh time during the past months, it may be hard for you to really go full on Summer mode. Well. if thats not truly your case, then you sir are an awesome and yet mysterious person, that I fail to understand.
Anyway, as I was saying, you may need a little push to enjoy the laziness you deserve. Being a college student in a very energy consuming course, I often have this problem. I just cant seem to be able to relax when I no longer have anything to do. It's just like...work,work,work and then nothing, nada, zero, it's just a very quick transition, and it may be hard for some people to adapt to it.

Here are a few tips on how to get rid of that pos-traumatic stress that follows you around everywhere you go:

1 - Sleep. In modern times sleep is something you don't get, so make sure you lazy out on the world. A little summer hibernation as never hurt anyone.

2 - Go to the beach, go hiking...whatever. Just do stuff that you weren't able to do when working. Just do random stuff that reminds you of freedom, that takes work to a hole different universe.

3 - Go meet up with some old friends. Friends from times when everything seemed for ever, people that really make you happy. I'm not talking about those random friends you meet, I'm talking about your bros.

4 - Try something new. It may be a different hairstyle, a new hobby, a new tradition, like going to a different restaurant, or taking a different route home; it just as to be something that will be related exclusively to your Summer and nothing else. I'm not saying that you should change yourself, I'm just suggesting that you should evolve in some aspect of your life.

5 - Finally, be Happy, fell Amazing and Enjoy life. None of this tips will work if you don't fell joy in every single thing you do.

Now seriously, being happy may seem hard and sadness may feel like the easiest way out, but it isn't. Happiness gives you everything, whilst sadness never ends and it will just consumes all your light until it goes out and there's nothing left. Listen, if the sun doesn't make you happy, try and enjoy the rain; if the sight of babies smiling at you makes you wanna run, don't look at them; if you just hate your life, Change it. Dude, NO ONE CARES!!! Your happiness is yours to make and preserve. People around you will try and help but they won't be there forever. You have to take care of yourself, and being healthy isn't all about you physical health...it involves your emotions too. After al, they are all a part of the same.
What I'm trying to say is: If you are able to be a happy person in every aspect of your life, then everything you do, everyone you meet will just add, and in the end, you'll think back smile and say: Yes, this was a good ride.

This entire article might sound tacky but it's the truth. I'm ending the post with a "Braveheart" quote, but it just sums up everything I wanted to say: Everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives.

Thank you for reading.
You are awesome

Supernatural - What just happened?! (Season 8 finale)

I remember when Supernatural was all about monsters and demons and it was actually scary, a time when everyone was happy. But then something happened, something that they could never turn their backs from. Angels happened.

I'll be honest with you, at first it was all very strange and new, I wasn't sure what to think about it. Still with time I learned to like the new addition, despite the obvious God problematic. I have learnt that God is lazy and doesn't care, and also that when he cares, it only involves a specific individual or problem, not something big and mighty like you would expect from God...But that's a story for a different time.

Now, back to the angel theme. When watching Supernatural I was told that Angels have amazing, hideous and scary forms that only prophets can see, and that, before descending to earth, they take a human form (with their permission of course). Now here's the problem, why and how do they take their human forms back to heaven? How do they time travel with a human "meat bag"? HOW?! Please enlighten me, cause I have no idea. And at the end of season 8,when heaven shuts it's doors, you just see an awesome clip with a bunch of angels falling from the sky, their wings burning like they were paper.......Wait, WHAT?!

  • Fact 1 - Wings burning?! What wings ?! Weren't normal humans blind to them? Or did just everyone turn into a prophet instantly?

  • Fact 2 - They are falling...IN HUMAN FORMS?! What? Were they previously informed of what was about to happen, and took the time to go down on earth and convince a human to be their "suit" and then came back up, just to fall back down? And how are their human forms in heaven? Sam and Dean had to "die" to get up there, weren't souls the only ones allowed or did that rule change to?

  • Fact 3 - You all remember that one episode in which we are told the story of Castiel's human body, right? Okay, now forget all about that guy, he is completely dead. There is just nothing left of him. When the angel is turned into a human (What? An angel turned into a human just like that? That sound completely logic), you would expect him to be bipolar...but no, his human body, the soul he completely ruined, just gave up, and decided to be there latent for the rest of his life, even when the only thing he has to fight of is an inexpedient fresh made mortal.

Now, that's just all I wanted to say. If you have an explanation for this please feel free to tell me in the comment section bellow.
I hope I didn't take much of your time, and thank you for taking the actual time to read this :) .

You are awesome

Life Update

So...I know I haven't wrote to you random stranger in some time. But yes, I've been busy with this weird thing called college, it's like a thing that's supposed to help you get a better future or something, idk.

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that the most marvelous thing happened. I have this really difficult class that most people fail on the first year, and I had it already fixed in my mind that I wasn't going to be able to do it. I was really sad because all my effort would go to waste, and I didn't have any hope. Still I decided to take the exam...and guess what? I DID IT. Of course it wasn't the best of grades, in fact it was the worst possible, but still I did it!!! I FUCKING MADE IT!!!

Okay, the point of me writing this is to tell everyone that has the time to read this:

-Don't ever give up. Even if everything looks like it couldn't be worse, even if you fell like there's just no hope...Don't let go. If you do nothing, you are condemning yourself to fail. But if you just try, you can either lose and do it again, or you can win. It can either be god, angels, luck, or just random chance. Whatever the reason, there is still that one door that will lead you to victory!!!
Yeah, I might be dramatizing this to much, but me completing this class made me cry tears of happiness, and that never happens...NEVER.

Thank You For Reading :)

Supernatural - Will it ever end?!

I have been addicted to the Winchesters since they first aired. I have followed blindly this crazy and amazing story since the time when Sam was "little" and had that funky hair (which let's face it, was way cooler than is current hairstyle). And since the fourth season my mind as been like:

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?! WHY?! WHAT?! ANGELS?! GOD?! Then...why is God such an asshole?! He just saves random people? If he does then why not end all this madness?!

Then I just concluded that God is lazy as shit... Yup, that's it. Anyway I'm not here to talk about the my past conflict with the story line. I don't wanna get ahed of myself, and I don't wanna create false expectations but this last story, the shutting the gates of hell for good part is quite interesting. It made me really want to watch the episodes, like a lot!!!

I don't think that any of the seasons will ever get any better than the first two or so, but from everything I've seen I believe the 8th is on a good path.

Thanks For Reading...and if you watch Supernatural - YOU ARE AN AWESOME PERSON!!! ;)

p.s. The title...if it will ever end? I'm just hoping for something epic, everything good always ends.

"The Avengers"

Honestly...I watched this movie like a month ago. The reason why I didn't wrote anything for this long is...well, the movie made me sad. I guess I was just expecting too much from a movie that wasn't THAT great anyway.

**

Let's try and make this as short as possible, shall we?

1.Way to many characters for one single film. (I know that almost each character had a film of their own, but still... to much information to take in )

2. Well ...I don't get why they try to equal gods, super creatures, iron guys and...hum...some girl and a guy with arrows. These last two characters I just don't understand.

3. If only Thor decided to do his super thunder atack in the begining of the movie....all humanity saved in 5 seconds.

4. Let's see....Captain America works with GODS and still believes there is only one god?! Stubborn little fella...(well I guess we can see those Gods only as super aliens )

5. So, Loki wanted to conquer Earth because he was mad at his brother, his father, adopted, or simply just wanted some bitches to kneil? Seriously...did he actually thought he had a chance against all the Avengers?
Well, where's what I think. I believe Loki probably just wanted to go back home, and that was the only way he found (in a weird evil adoptive brother kinda way).

p.s. I woudn't mind if the entire world was ruled by a god like THAT....

I have way to many things to say about this movie, but here's a link to a youtube video that says almost everything I want to. ;)

Now... besides all the things I just said I still recommend this film. If you like this kind of movies with lots of action and special effects ----> The Avengers is a great way to burn through some of your boredom.

**The real reason why I watched this movie is Tom Hiddleston. I'm obcessed...Deal with it, BITCHES!!!

Tom Hiddleston's Guinea field diary

Tom Hiddleston's Guinea field diary: Day 1: This week, actor Tom Hiddleston set off on his first journey with UNICEF UK to Guinea in West Africa. Tom will be meeting with Guinean children, families and communities. He'll also be visiting several UNICEF projects, finding out about our work in child protection, education, and water and sanitation. Read his first dispatch here.

I wanted to share this with everyone. This honorable man is my inspiration. When I finish college I'm going to help as many as I can. I know for a fact that Guinea is in desperate need of some real doctors.

If you haven't heard yet - this country only has health technicians - I don't know if this is the correct term, I'm trying to translate for the Portuguese term - they are almost the same as nurses. I've learned in college that the conditions are terrible. It's a difficult area and I don't know if I'll make it. I just wish I have the same strenght Hiddleston had. I'm still a long way from graduating (almost 13 years to go...A LONG TIME...) but I'm hoping that then I'll have more courage and strenght to help with someting most people ignore.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank Tom Hiddleston. It's thanks to people like you that I still feel pushed foward to do someting better, to contribute. I know the world will never be perfect, but we have to start somewhere.

Also try to read the rest of the Diary. Here you have the link for Day 1, but there are other posts.

How to survive college in 5 steps!

Dear loving reader,

Today I decided not to write a movie review and actually write something about myself. I haven’t seen the “Avengers” yet (school has been stealing all my free time…every single tiny second of it… -_-‘’) but don’t worry I am going to see it tonight. I have really high hopes on this one so I’ve been trying to choose the perfect time to watch it. It’s Friday (basically all my free time is invested on the second half part of the day…  :D) and I’m not coming back home this weekend, so it’s the perfect opportunity. The next thing I’ll be publishing will be my review on that.

Anyway I just wanted to write something about my still short college experience. Honestly I was fricking scared at the start. I only knew one person and I’m not exactly what you would refer to as…hum, well the social kind of person (c’mon guys I have a blog named after my boredom…How cool am I? Right?! XD <-these stupid faces don’t help either…).

I have trouble making friends…maybe I’m just too picky but that wasn’t even the worse problem. The college where I am is in another city, so after 17 years off living under mommy’s wing I would have to survive on my own (just during the week of course :P – I still don’t know how to cook anything…ups, guess I’m not as independent as I thought ). I’d never been on my own before, this was really stressing. I had my own money, responsibilities and I had to keep everything organized. The financial stuff was the worst part…luckily I’m a cheap bastard so I always end up with a lot of money at the end of the month (success saving!). Still the having to live by my own was horrifying.

The first week is always the hardest, and after doing the same shenanigan every week for 6 months you kind of get used to it. Now, let’s get to the real point of why I’m writing this:

HOW TO SURVIVE THE FIRST WEEK IN COLLEGE:

 - If you’re going in a university in your town then….just take a chill pill. Your parents are there, your whole entire city is there so chill out. Of course you won’t get to see all your old friends everyday but you’ll get some fresh new ones. Some of these new acquirements will be in my situation. Try and understand their situation and be there for them (then I’ll personally nominate you: FRIEND OF THE YEAR!!! (*insert happy cheering sounds*)).

- If you’re in my situation and you have to deal with the entire “new city, new life” situation, then follow these five simple steps:

Step one – BRACE YOURSELF!!!!
Make a list of everything you need to survive on your own. I’m not going to do it for you…but, just think of your everyday life and everything you need to live through the day. If you’re not coming back home for the entire semester, then focus on this one.

* It sounds weird but when you’re alone in a new strange place it helps if you bring something from home, something familiar that will lift your spirit when you’re feeling down (and I don’t mean drugs mister…)

Step two – CLEAN ALL THINGS!!!

You’ll be doing most of your parents tasks (cleaning, laundry, cooking…and stuff) so try and learn how to do all of that while you’re still at home(especially if you are planning on staying the entire semester…I just go back home every weekend to do that XD…lazy me right?!)

Step three – MONEY!!!!

If you’re parents want to handle your financial stuff than fine, don’t worry about it (or should you?! O.O Your parents don’t trust you enough….hum). However, if you have to handle your own money, try and get your parents to teach you the basics (if you don’t already know them than you shouldn’t go to college). And please don’t spend unnecessary money. You’ll just end up with a lot of cool stuff and parties but not really enough to eat…or eventually buy a book (Just be careful with the ones you choose. Most technical books are very expensive and you really don’t need to purchase the entire recommended list).
*If you have to work while you study than I wish you all the luck in the world. I have no experience in that area but this is the internet…you’re bound to find some useful advice.

Step four –BE NICE!!!
I never lived in a dorm but I have some house mates so I’ll assume things aren’t that different. What you’ll have to do is respect everyone that lives with you. They might not turn out to be BFF but you’ll at least create a respectful relationship ( and you never know…maybe you’ll become great friends J ).
* Oh….and don’t forget to pay the rent in time, people don’t really like it when I do that…

Step five – Relax and enjoy the ride...

College may sound hard but from what I’ve been told it’s fast as hell and you’ll spend your golden years in it. Remember that everyone is in the same situation and that most people don’t know anyone, so it will be quite easy and fun to discover new lives and people, and you’ll have at least one thing in common with them – you all want to work in the same area. You’ll meet a lot of new faces and you’ll like some more than others, eventually you’ll get yourself a friend for life (I was terrified about this part, but I now have some really awesome friends) – it’s a fact that most people you meet during this time will stay in your life for some long years…I mean you’ll be doing the same thing in the future ;).The trick is to be as relaxed as possible, there’s nothing to be nervous about: you’ll just be entering a new and exciting phase of your life.

And that’s all I have to say about college. Again I’m sorry if you find some misspells and grammar errors in here (you fricking grammar Nazi… -_-‘) as you probably know I’m from Portugal and also there are a lot of memes in this post and I'm sorry if that's kinda weird - I just felt like doing something silly. Nevertheless, thank you so much for reading my crap. I hope this helped you and if you’re going to college – the best of luck to you.

*Oh crap, I almost forgot. There’s one last essential key to survive in college jungle….You actually have to STUDY (it’s not all fun and games – I mean partying and drinking, which is what most people see in a university. Frankly you spend most of your time studying and working as a mad man…)

*and this is here because...well because it's Tom Hiddleston that's why. :D

Why Loki invaded Earth - The Avengers

I have to be honest – I still haven’t seen the “Avengers” (*drowns in tears*). Yeah, yeah…I know, if I haven’t watched it than why am I writing here?! Well, I promise I will see it soon and write something about it, but I still wanna see Iron Man, and time isn’t easy to come by these days.
Anyway, after I saw “Thor” I got obsessed with the story and especially with the character Loki played by Tom HIddleston (don’t judge, you have to admit that he’s great).

So I was watching some YouTube videos and Tom decided to elucidate everyone on why Loki would like to invade earth. He simply wanted “some bitches to kneel…”. I know what you’re thinking this is not a valid reason, and to that I say- Why not?! I mean if I was a god and my all powerful brother had just won the throne I wanted, I would pick some random planet to conquer. I mean, it’s better than nothing and who doesn’t like to be worshiped by 7 billion harmeless humans?!

I think that’s a pretty good point.
If you’re looking for a more serious and “actually related to the film” answer go check this out:
I don’t know who wrote this but whoever that was, he has my congrats.
 Here's the link to Hiddleston's interview : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGmlkBu6Xko

"Thor" -why is Loki the bad guy? (I don't get it XD)

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, then I recommend that you go and see it before you read this ;) .
I must say that I loved the film. It’s not one of those fantastic movies that you will never forget (just my opinion guys...don’t be mad), it’s just the kind of movie that most teens like to see. It has lots of action, romance and to be honest it appeals to the female audience by having the main charecter and his evil brothers played by two of the most gorgeous actors of all time (and that’s basically the main reason why I saw the film. Well, that and the fact that I am planing on watching the Avengers...damn, I still haven’t seen Iron Man XD, there goes my study time).
Now, let’s talk about the actual plot, shall we?
This is the main reason why I decided to write this: Was I the only one cheering for Loki?
I mean, the only thing Loki truly wanted was to gain the approvel of his father and become king of Asgard. And sure...there were probably better ways to get that. Breaking into the kingdom’s vault with some ice Giants may have not been very smart, but in the end all he wanted was to show Odin that he deserved the throne. He had just found he was adopted and that he could never have the throne ( he was the son of the enemy for christ sake, how could Odin ever allow him to be King?!).
Loki’s story is sad. In the end he saw that his father would never aprove what he had done so he just decided to let go. It was the most depressing thing in the movie.
By the way I hate Odin...that guy could obviously see that Thor wasn’t prepared to be king The god of thunder was all about fighting and fighting and Loki was more the thinking type, a master mind suited to be king. Loki truly only wanted the best for everyone (exept his own kind...but who cares about the ice Giants anyway?! Oh...that’s right Thor does....for some reason. In the begining of the movie Thor wanted to destroy the evil frosty enemies and in the end he destroyed the only way to travel in the universe because of them?! Jezz...I just don’t get him. How can two days in earth do that to you? Or maybe it was the influence of love...I don’t know. The ice Giants deserved to die...just look at them, they are evil and live in a ice cube. No one likes them and they spend most of their time frozen. I think that what Loki was doing was the best choice...but I don’t make the story.
In my opinion, and to finally end this article, Loki should have become king and Thor should have stayed back on earth. It would have been a win/win situation (exept for the ice Giants, but as I said-nobody cares)
Before I go I just wanted to say that this movie has made me complety obcessed with Tom Hiddleston ‘s work (I have to say that this guy is a great actor and thank his parents for bringing him into the world XD. I know perfect does not exist, but this guy is conected to some world saving institutions and honestly, he looks like a fricking god – perfect to play the role of a god :P). I now spend most of my time watching every thing that he made...so thank you internet for making me waste all of my precious time with research that will help in...well I can’t find any use for this information right now. Maybe some day it will come in handy.
If you find any errors in my writing. I’m sorry for them I’m Portuguese and my english is not that good :D.

"The Lodger" (2009) - This is a great movie!!!

I was kinda out of ideas for a new post...and also worried I would not be able to write in here again, but I just watched an AWESOME movie and decided to recomend it in here :D.

It's not a recent film, it's from 2009 - "The lodger", inspired in the 1927 movie with the same name by Hitchcock. I just finished watching it and basically the story involves a serial killer that copies the murders of Jack the Riper. All the story is really great, and you only guess who the real killer is in the last 30 seconds...however what I loved the most about the entire story was the relation created between the lodger and the woman who is renting the place. All the tension created between both characters and Simon Baker performance really make you sink into the story.

I need to tell you...honestly, that in the end movie ( talking about innocent people beeing murdered ans stuff) I was actually cheering for the killer.. :/ (can you imagine how messed up this is?!)

I really recomend that you watch this, and if you also have some time...maybe you could also check the original version.

The Bowl Haircut - Ian Hecox

This is my first post so...I decided to start with a topic that has been bothering me quite a bit - THE BOWL HAIRCUT.

I never really understood why people still have their hairs like that...I mean it kinda looks good on some people but in general ....it's just not that great (no ofense or anything).

Most of you have heard about these silly youtubers - smosh. Yeah....you probably have, so I would just like to say that that guy, Ian....his hair is not all bad. From the videos I've seen the haircut matches his personality just perfectly.

To support this and also justify why in hell I would find a reason to write about this I present to you the definition of Bowl Cut (of course its from Wiki...I'm lazy...OK???):

"A bowl cut, also known as a pot haircut, a helmet haircut or a mushroom cut, is a haircut where the hair is cut short on the sides and back and looking as though someone put a bowl on the head and cut off all the visible hair. A bowl cut is also known for being a cheap and easy haircut often sported by children."

First of all, WTF? Mushroom cut...it does'nt even look like a mushroom...but why should you doubt wikipedia, it's like the most accurate source in the world... :P. Also the fact that this is a typicall hair style for kids makes this haircut perfect for Ian Hecox (don't you think?...)

Ohh...I almost forgot...I was watching some of the oldest videos and then I noticed a strange evolution...
It goes from an actual huge bowl (omg...wtf is that!? is that thing alive?!) to something that resembles a normal haircut....but not quite (it still has that weird looking shape...).

The haircut suits Ian...in my opinion (you are free to have yours), and I just don't get it when people say that he should change his haircut...it just wouldnt be the same Ian.

Anyway, that's basically all I can conclude on the bowl subject ...(I don't even know why I'm still writting...) and I also have other things to do like....hummm I dunno....slepping? :P

I hope you find this useful (cause this is a rather important subject....)
D.P.

p.s. sorry for the english errors...in case you haven't noticed I'm Portuguese (you know that tiny piece of land next to spain...that's an actual country with people and stuff...)
